Epiphone Frontier USA Antique Natural

Guitar Description

The Epiphone Frontier USA Antique Natural is a high-quality, U.S.-made acoustic guitar modeled after the legendary Frontier models of the 1960s. Manufactured at the historic Gibson factory in Bozeman, Montana, it combines the classic square-shoulder dreadnought body style with select tonewoods and particularly elaborate vintage features. This makes the Frontier USA one of Epiphone’s highest-quality acoustic guitars.

The guitar offered here was built in 2022 and features a solid Sitka spruce top, as well as a back and sides made of beautifully grained, solid curly maple. This combination of woods gives the Frontier a powerful, open, and exceptionally dynamic sound with a distinctive character.

Sonically, the guitar impresses with well-defined bass, prominent mids, and brilliant highs. Its fast and direct response, as well as its excellent string separation, are particularly impressive. Even with a stronger strum, the tone remains clear and balanced. The large square-shoulder dreadnought body shape delivers ample volume and projection, while the maple body ensures beautiful transparency and definition.

This makes the Epiphone Frontier USA ideal for a variety of playing styles. When fingerpicking, individual notes are reproduced clearly and with great definition, while strumming produces a full, powerful, and assertive sound. The combination of dynamics, richness, and direct response makes it an exceptionally versatile acoustic guitar.

Visually, too, the Frontier is something special. The distinctive Lariat & Cactus pickguard is one of this model’s unmistakable features and immediately brings to mind the historic Frontier guitars of the 1960s. Combined with the elegant Antique Natural finish, the beautifully figured bird’s-eye maple, the intricate body inlays, and the classic mother-of-pearl fretboard inlays, the result is an exceptionally attractive guitar with authentic vintage character.

A high-quality L.R. Baggs VTC pickup system is installed for enhanced performance. This system delivers a natural and dynamic reproduction of the acoustic sound, making the Frontier ideal for use on stage as well.

Condition

The guitar is in very good, nearly like-new condition. It has been treated with great care and shows only a few minor signs of wear from playing. The frets are also in like-new condition and show virtually no wear.

Overall, this 2022 Epiphone Frontier USA is in exceptionally good condition and impresses both visually and technically. The original Epiphone case is also included.

Setup & Playability

We carefully set up every guitar. We adjust the neck radius and string action to ensure that the guitar plays cleanly, comfortably, and without buzzing across the entire fretboard.

The string action is 2.7 mm on the low E string and 2.1 mm on the high e string, measured at the 12th fret.
