The Atkin L-36 The Thirty Six from the 2021 model year is inspired by the legendary American folk and blues guitars of the 1930s and impresses with its incredibly charming vintage character. The small slope-shoulder design reacts very directly to the attack and delivers a wonderfully dry, open and very dynamic sound with an impressive response.
The combination of torrified Sitka spruce top, mahogany body and hand-scalloped pre-war bracing produces a very lively and woody tone with outstanding dynamics and great tone separation. Fingerstyle and blues players in particular will get their money’s worth with this guitar. The Atkin L-36 The Thirty Six has exactly the warm, slightly rough vintage character for which the instruments from the English Atkin manufacturer are now so highly regarded.
This is the aged version with a factory relic finish. In addition, the guitar has received some real traces of use over the course of time, which is perfect for the already very authentic vintage look. The frets are in very good condition.
The playability is excellent. The guitar has been carefully checked and optimally adjusted by us. The neck curvature and string action are perfectly adjusted so that the Atkin L-36 The Thirty Six can be played cleanly and without buzzing across the entire fretboard.
The string action is 2.9 mm on the low E-string and 2.2 mm on the high E-string, measured at the 12th fret.
