Product Description

The Martin 00-18 from 1947 is an impressive example of the legendary craftsmanship that has made the Martin name famous worldwide. The small 00 design is one of the most popular vintage formats of all and impresses with its immediate response, enormous dynamics and wonderfully open, woody sound character.

With almost 80 years under its belt, this guitar bears visible traces of its long life, but its sound is absolutely impressive. The tone is dry, warm, direct and incredibly resonant with exactly the kind of recorded vintage character that only old Martin guitars of this era possess. The Martin 00-18 reacts sensitively to the attack and develops an impressive openness and dynamic. A fantastic vintage Martin with fantastic playability and an exceptionally inspiring sound.

This guitar has been officially registered with Hutton’s Registry. The certificate issued by vintage Martin expert Doug Hutton confirms, among other things, numerous original details of the guitar as well as the allocation within the production batches of 1947. The original Hutton’s Registry certificate is available and represents a very interesting additional document for collectors and vintage enthusiasts.

Overall, the guitar is in completely original condition. Two cracks in the top, a crack on the frame in the area of the strap pin and a crack on the back have been professionally repaired and have been stable for years. The Brazilian rosewood bridge has been reglued, and the guitar has also been given a neck reset and a complete refret.

Every guitar receives a careful setup from us. Neck curvature and string action are optimally adjusted so that the Martin 00-18 can be played cleanly, comfortably and without buzzing across the entire fretboard.
