The Martin 00-42 SC John Mayer is one of the most sought-after signature models of recent years and exemplifies the close collaboration between C.F. Martin & Co. and the US singer/songwriter John Mayer. This Custom Signature Edition combines the traditional 00-12 Fret construction with high-quality tonewoods and selected Style 42 elements that meet the highest visual and tonal demands.

The first owner acquired this example in Milan in 2013 and was able to compare several models directly with each other there. The guitar has only been played a few times since then and is therefore in almost mint condition, free from any significant signs of use.

The solid AAA Sitka spruce top provides a clear, dynamic response, while the Cocobolo back and sides are responsible for powerful basses, defined trebles and a present, lively middle. The shortened scale length of 632 mm creates a soft, pleasant playing feel, and the nut width of 47.6 mm offers generous space – ideal for fingerstyle players. The string action is 2.4 mm (E-string) and 1.7 mm (E-string) at the 12th fret.
