Taylor 618e

The Taylor 618e is part of the high-end 600 Series and combines Taylor’s largest body shape with a classic combination of Sitka spruce and beautifully figured big-leaf maple. The Grand Orchestra was designed as a large and powerful body style that, despite its enormous body volume, is very well-balanced and responds with surprising sensitivity to different playing dynamics.

The Taylor 618e offered here was built in 2022 and is therefore part of the generation featuring V-Class bracing. The solid Sitka spruce top is paired with solid, flamed big-leaf maple for the back and sides. Maple has a very clear and transparent tonal character and reproduces the player’s individual style with exceptional immediacy. Thanks to the V-Class bracing and the Grand Orchestra’s large air volume, the 618e produces a sound that is both powerful and full-bodied, with a deep foundation, excellent projection, and long sustain.

The large Grand Orchestra body style offers tremendous dynamic range and responds particularly impressively to vigorous strumming. At the same time, the response remains sensitive and well-defined even with a more subtle playing style. The clarity typical of maple ensures that the large body does not sound muddled and that individual notes remain beautifully distinct from one another, even in more complex chords.

A special highlight of this guitar is the exceptionally beautiful flamed maple on the back. The intense and very even grain is impressive—and even on a 618e, you don’t often see it this pronounced. The light Antique Blonde finish beautifully highlights the structure and depth of the maple.

The rest of the features also reflect the high-quality character of the 600 Series. The mother-of-pearl Mission inlays on the fingerboard and headstock, the one-piece paua rosette, and the maple binding with koa purfling give the Taylor 618e an elegant and distinctive look without detracting from the exceptional selection of woods.

The Taylor Expression System 2 is built in for amplified performance. This allows the guitar to be played directly through an acoustic amplifier or a PA system, making it perfectly equipped for stage use.

The guitar is in like-new condition and has been treated with great care. There are no significant signs of wear. The frets are also in like-new condition.

We carefully set up every guitar. We adjust the neck radius and string action to ensure that the guitar plays cleanly, comfortably, and without buzzing across the entire fretboard.

The string action is 2.7 mm on the low E string and 2.1 mm on the high e string, measured at the 12th fret.
