The Martin D-25 K is a rather rare model from Martin and occupies a special position within the dreadnought series. In this version with koa wood, the guitar clearly stands out from the classic mahogany or rosewood models and offers its very own tonal and visual characteristics.
The Martin D-25 K is equipped with a spruce top and koa back and sides. This combination ensures a clear, direct basic tone with a warm response and a very beautiful, balanced mid-range structure. Koa combines the characteristics of mahogany and rosewood and develops an increasingly open and harmonious sound with age. Only 925 of this model were built, making the D-25 K a sought-after and comparatively rare Martin.
The guitar was made in 1980 and is in the original ownership. The original invoice from the new purchase in 1982 is available.
The condition is very good with only slight traces of use. The frets and fingerboard show signs of wear, but are still in very good condition. Overall, the guitar is technically flawless and is in completely original condition.
The guitar has been carefully checked and optimally adjusted by us. The neck curvature and string action are perfectly adjusted so that the Martin D-25 K can be played cleanly and without buzzing across the entire fingerboard.
The string action is 2.6 mm on the low E-string and 2.0 mm on the high E-string, measured at the 12th fret.
