Lakewood D-32 12-String

Lakewood has been one of the best-known German manufacturers of high-quality acoustic guitars for many decades. The instruments are made with great precision craftsmanship and enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide for their sound quality, workmanship and exceptionally good playability. Guitars from the early Lakewood vintages in particular are highly sought-after today, as they are still strongly influenced by the craftsmanship philosophy of the early days.

The guitar on offer here is a Lakewood D-32 12-string – a particularly interesting instrument from this period. The D-32 was one of the higher quality versions of the Lakewood series of the time. While the model was normally built as a 6-string, this guitar was made as a 12-string and is therefore a rare custom order.

The sound of the Lakewood D-32 12-string is impressive with a classic and tried-and-tested combination of woods. A solid spruce top meets Indian rosewood back and sides. This combination produces a large, open and very balanced sound with plenty of depth, clearly defined basses and brilliant overtones. As a 12-string, the guitar develops an impressively broad and shimmering sound with plenty of dynamics – ideal for strumming, open tunings or as a powerful accompaniment instrument.

The guitar is in very good condition. The playability is excellent and the instrument is pleasant and comfortable to play. The nut width is 48.5 mm and offers enough space for the typical playing style of a 12-string.

In addition, a high-quality Schertler Bluestick pickup is installed, which enables a very natural and transparent amplification and is particularly suitable for stage and studio.
