For sale is a Collings D1 from 2008 – an absolute classic from Collings. The D1 is one of the most popular models from the manufacturer from Austin, Texas, and offers everything you would expect from a high-quality dreadnought: powerful sound, outstanding workmanship and impressive dynamics. The D1 is particularly appreciated for its exceptional clarity of tone, which remains transparent even when strumming hard. This makes the guitar perfect for singer-songwriters, bluegrass flatpickers or simply anyone looking for an expressive and assertive instrument.
This guitar was made in 2008 and is in very good condition for its age. There are only isolated traces of play to be seen. The frets also show only minimal signs of wear. The string action is pleasantly flat (E = 3mm, e = 2mm), which further emphasizes the excellent playability of the D1.
The Collings is equipped with a professionally installed L.R. Baggs iBeam plus L.R. Baggs iMix preamp system. This combination delivers an impressively natural sound transmission with a clear sound image and excellent feedback resistance – ideal for stage and studio. The volume and mix control is discreetly integrated in the sound hole. The new price including installation was just under €500.
