Bourgeois guitars have an excellent reputation, especially in the bluegrass and fingerstyle scene. Martin Bryan Sutton, Ry Cooder, Henry Kaiser, Ricky Skaggs, Doc Watson, and many other virtuosos swear by the qualities of Bourgeois. Now, this D-150 is first of all a completely “normal” dreadnought. But the best has been used in every detail. These include perfectly grained Adirondack spruce, beautiful Madagascar rosewood, excellent workmanship, and tasteful design.
Dana Bourgeois has published articles in various American publications on the selection and characteristics of tonewoods, the adjustment of instruments, pre-tuning in construction, and the various aspects of bracing. These texts contain incredibly complex knowledge and an explanation of the physical relationships in guitar making that is understandable even for the pure user. With this guitar, Mr. Bourgeois shows us that he is not just a theoretician, but someone who can also use this knowledge to create a perfect instrument. The sound is breathtaking!
The guitar is in good condition, but there are a few traces of use. Includes LR Baggs pickup system.
